MRO Inventory Specialist

Role Description

Position Title: MRO Inventory Specialist

Manager: Reliability Manager

Position Location: Kenosha, WI

Date Amended: April 16, 2024

Position Summary

This role is intended to focus on establishing, elevating, and promoting the systematic stocking of critical spare parts and frequently used items at this facility. The MRO Specialist will focus on targets that are less than one month out, and is regarded as a complement to our talented reliability team that focuses daily/weekly work execution.

Accountabilities

  • Safety focused culture amongst the maintenance and reliability teams

  • Lead and participate in the completion of Job Hazard Assessments for cross-departmental non-standard work.

  • Critical Spares Inventory

  • Work with subject matter experts to determine what components are -critical- and what quantity they should be stocked.

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of critical spares and NSP items.

  • Seek replacement when items are utilized/consumed.

  • Purchasing

  • Research parts and work with vendors and sales associates.

  • Purchase parts, material, and services to support Reliability, Tooling, Maintenance and Engineering.

  • Assist in returns/warranty claims.

  • Create, Approve, and Receive Purchase Orders.

  • Ready Spares Storage and Housekeeping

  • Follow the national standard for CMMS inventory and labeling.

  • Create and maintain organized and labeled storage for spares and goods.

  • Audit physical inventory and make corrections to CMMS.

  • Make sure CMMS system is up to date and accurately matches inventory.

  • Job Planning and Kitting

  • Work with Reliability Manager and Maintenance Manager to ensure all necessary parts and tools are available before a PM or a scheduled job.

  • Audit CMMS system and report on open work orders.

  • Organize, label, and group parts for specific projects (i.e. parts for retrofit assemblies).

  • Work Documentation

  • Drive and promote work-order based maintenance.

  • Maintain a list of vendor contacts.

  • Document all parts ordered to assist Maintenance Manager with tracking budget.

    Qualifications

  • 2+ years of purchasing experience in manufacturing (ideally in plastic injection molding).

  • Experience with Microsoft Office.

  • Mechanical and electrical basic tool experience.

  • Basic understanding of mechanical assemblies (conveyors, sprockets, belts, pulleys, gearboxes, pumps).

  • Basic understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.

  • Ability to learn new software and adapt to new department procedures.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and experience with project management tools.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and departments.
