Amergis RN School Nurse Supervisor in Pleasant Hill, California
The School Nurse Supervisor provides support and oversight to the Amergis School Based Professional (SBP) in the field. The School Nurse Supervisor provides accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of student care and/or contracted services in a school setting.
This oversight will include supervision of the school-based professionals (SBP) as required by regulation or contract and personnel management associated with the clinical delivery. The School Nurse Supervisor is accountable to all federal, state, and local contracts and programs, and Amergis requirements.
The School Nurse Supervisor is also responsible for the ongoing evaluation of school based professionals in collaboration with the district nurse. Critical to this role is the assurance of clinical skills and competency of caregivers. This position will include ongoing caregiver supervision, development and evaluation under the direction of the District Building Nurse and Amergis Healthcare Staffing requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides clinical oversight, support and care management as required by contract and/or regulation
Conducts visits at each district based on contractual requirements and needs
Performs routine records documentation reviews at each site to ensure that staff are providing accurate, appropriate nursing care and follow-up
Collaborates with district to provide supervision to school-based professionals while on assignment, assesses and investigates staff concerns, issues and provides performance coaching when appropriate
Meets routinely with the district to ensure communication, collaboration and continuity of care
Provides and ensures student care coordination and transition management activities, as directed by contract
May be required to provide direct nursing care in the absence of an assigned SBP at a site
Partners with the District RN, Delegating RN and Internal Amergis Clinical designee to ensure compliance on Delegation and Supervision requirements, as applicable
Collaborates with the client’s building nurse, medical director, and school-based professionals regarding nursing practice, training and client policies, procedures and protocols
Attends other mandatory training, orientations and meetings at the request of the client
Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement and evaluate student’s care needs
Demonstrates on each assignment the provision of skilled nursing care in accordance with prescribed orders/IHP
Performs interventions, treatments and medications according to the identified priorities as outlined in the IHP
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Active Registered Nurse licensure in state of practice
Minimum two years’ experience in school nursing preferred
Pediatric experience preferred
Supervisory experience, preferred
Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
Current CPR if applicable
TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
Computer proficiency required
Must be at least 18 years of age
