Job Description

As part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific team, you’ll discover meaningful work that makes a positive impact on a global scale.

The Sr. Content Strategist partners with marketing strategists, product owners, user experience teams, and other partners to integrate business goals with customer needs. You will craft the narrative structure of marketing campaigns and product experiences through strategic recommendations, customer journeys, and user flows across multiple channels and platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and define digital and print content needs by conducting inventory and analyses to inform marketing campaigns, product experiences, and content migrations

  • Collaborate with marketing strategists, product owners, information architects, and other partners to implement technical improvements that support content targeting, personalization, and syndication through the CMS and related tools

  • Ensure consistent messaging, leverage SEO and metadata

  • Facilitate easy publication and syndication of content, and inform editorial calendars and governance workflows

  • Verify customer journeys, user flows, and layouts/wireframes align to standards, personas, and marketing funnel stages informed by analytics

  • Work with marketing specialty teams to ensure experiment design and implementation of quantitative user testing plans

  • Guide marketing strategists in aligning business goals with customer needs on campaign storytelling, inform editorial calendars, and content governance workflows

  • Coordinate regular website accessibility and maintenance updates

  • Assist in training and educational opportunities to improve knowledge and understanding of UX standard processes, content strategy, page types, templates, and content standards

  • Craft innovative marketing communication across multiple channels, including the fishersci.com website

This is an onsite position in Pittsburgh, PA.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in UX, IT, Marketing, Writing, Communications, or equivalent experience required

  • 3+ years of related professional experience with a focus on web and content

  • Outstanding skills in campaign construction and customer experience through roadmaps or journey documentation

  • Experience crafting and working with wireframes

  • Confirmed experience in directing and structuring content for comprehensive campaigns

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Professional knowledge of graphic design, UX, or information architecture

  • Solid organizational and interpersonal skills with a problem-solving approach; experience with scientific content a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively under deadlines and balance speed and quality

  • Successful track record of combining business objectives, design recommendations, and technical constraints into a single innovative solution

  • Ability to understand complex technical subjects and express them straightforwardly

  • Outstanding writing skills with experience writing both creative and technically oriented copy for on- and offline marketing collateral

  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to present data and insights to partners

  • Relationship builder; works effectively across various levels of the organization and champions relationships in cross-functional teams

  • Knowledge of HTML and content management systems; experience with Adobe Experience Manager a plus
