Position Description

RAND is seeking a Research Finance Administrator I to manage the daily financial activities within Research & Analysis, Global and Emerging Risks (GER), Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), as well as other non-research departments. This may include research project and overhead budgeting, tracking, and monitoring financial data, participation in business planning, approving timesheets, and providing support and guidance to R&A, GER, and DEI management, and the internal clients of the GER research division. This position will serve as a point of contact for addressing issues and interacting with support departments, including Financial Management, Contracts, Grants & Procurement Services, Accounting and Development.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Point of contact for financially focused inquiries by R&A, GER, and DEI management, principal investigators, and RAND support departments.

Budgeting and financial oversight of overhead, donor, grant, and internally funded activities, as well as school supported activities.

Directing research staff to guidance on policies and procedures and making recommendations for improvements to processes and procedures.

Collecting data for various reporting purposes and simple financial analyses.

Additionally, may also include some operational responsibilities, as needed, such as support for timekeeping, procedure writing, or other corporate data requirement processes.

Qualifications

Strong Excel skills required.

Exposure to database and enterprise applications preferred.

Excellent written and verbal skills dealing with a variety of staff levels required.

Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information appropriately required.

Education High School diploma required; BS/BA degree preferred.

Experience 1 year of related experience required; 3 years preferred.

Salary range: $60,900- $90,800
