UPMC Psych Rehab Worker in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

The Psych Rehab Program is small program that makes a large impact, serving those with severe and persistent mental health diagnoses to help work towards their recovery goals by providing service one on one and also in a group setting.

The Psych Rehab Worker is primarily responsible for the provision of site based Psychiatric Rehabilitation services, through individual and group interactions, for an identified caseload. This will include conducting strength-based assessments, developing individualized rehabilitation plans, and working with participants to assist with goal attainment.

Responsibilities:

Program Development

  • Develop, plan, implement, and evaluate psychiatric and psychosocial rehabilitation programs.

Collaboration

  • Attend interagency and team meetings.

  • Help consumers access mental health and community resources.

Crisis Management

  • Maintain First Aid/CPR and crisis management certification.

  • Respond to crises appropriately.

Education

  • Educate consumers, families, and support persons on Psychiatric Rehabilitation and problem-solving.

Mental Health Services

  • Provide direct mental health services based on psychiatric and vocational rehabilitation knowledge.

Compliance

  • Maintain accurate consumer records.

  • Meet annual training requirements.

  • A bachelor’s degree

  • Or An associate’s degree AND 1 year work experience in mental health direct service

  • OR A CPS certificate AND 1 additional year paid or volunteer work experience in mental health direct service

  • OR A high school diploma or GED AND 2 years work experience in human services which must include 1 year of mental health direct service

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)

  • Driver's License

  • Act 34
