Position Objective The Operations Planning Engineer provides direct support of the field development plan and execution of the operations schedule. This position is responsible for closely monitoring key operational milestones and delivering strategic insights to ensure compliance with design specifications, maintain safety standards, and optimize cost-effectiveness related to well pad design and onsite development.
The Operations Planning Engineer I/II/III/IV responsibilities include but are not limited to: Drive processes and coordination between departments to ensure well pads are optimally designed for full well development and maximum efficiency for all operations across the life of the pad. Collaborate with operating departments to proactively plan and support the operations schedule for conductor and mousehole operations, AST installation, and staging and routing, ensuring efficient resource management, schedule adherence, and financial evaluations. Possesses strong computer skills with a solid understanding of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawing principles, and CAD/graphics. Knowledge and proficiency with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Upkeep site inventory and integrate data through the digital work environment. Create and maintain technical drawings for documentation and reporting. Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including well pad design plans and presentations for stakeholders. Assist in the design, installation, and maintenance of wellhead systems and cellars out in the field. The role involves collaborating with senior engineers and other technical teams to ensure the safe and efficient operation of wellhead equipment, adhering to regulatory standards and best practices. Collects, reads, interprets, and uses related reference documents and drawings prepared by other disciplines, vendors, or outside sources. Working understanding of GIS and proficiency with ArcMAP.
Required Experience and Skills: Bachelor's degree in chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, or petroleum engineering. Basic computer skills and practical application of software programs. Ability to contribute in a team environment. Effective communication skills in both oral and written form, including technical writing. Ability to think analytically and solve fundamental problems.
Preferred Experience and Skills: 2+ years' experience in related field or industry.
Remote work is being considered for this role excluding the following states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee unless willing to relocate.
