UPMC Manager, Facilities in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Full Time Manager, Facilities to support the Maintenance department!

This position will work Monday through Friday daylight hours. Hours are subject to change based on business needs.

The Facilities Manager strategically manages all aspects of the UPMC Facilities, Engineering and Maintenance which may include autoclave, incinerators, laboratories, loading docks, patient areas, public areas and all ancillary areas. This role is responsible for all UPMC and applicable University of Pittsburgh payroll, human resources and labor relations functions, as well as oversight of the various contractual agreements, as applicable.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee testing and training to ensure compliance with TJC, DOH, AAALAC, Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), DLAR, Department of Agriculture, etc., guidelines.

  • Oversee department budget and purchasing, including supplies, equipment, construction projects and/or crews, and management of vendor contracts

  • Effectively oversee an FTE staff to ensure continuous improvement in productivity and quality. Maintain an organizational structure appropriate to achieve the organizational objectives of the department while managing daily staffing requirements and schedules to ensure that daily work and special assignments are completed.

  • Participate in negotiations of contractual agreements, as applicable, under the direction of the Assistant Vice President or his designee; responsible for its proper application and administration within the department, including seniority and overtime rotation.

  • Serve as a liaison between UPMC's Facilities, Engineering and Maintenance Department and the University of Pittsburgh's Facilities Management Department as well as the Corporate Real Estate Department to oversee building systems and respond to tenant needs and concerns.

  • Responsible for all personnel reporting to or through his/her direct reports, including recruitment, orientation, retention, performance appraisals, progressive discipline, and compliance with training and education requirements.

· High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.

· Completion of accredited trade school or other applicable certified training in related field preferred.

· Three to five years of experience, preferably in a large, fast-paced or healthcare setting is required.

· Must be proficient in all phases of building operations. Working knowledge of the physical plant, preventive maintenance and general operations preferred.
