DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Clerical Assistant 3, you will support the bureau's mission of managing a statewide registry for vital events. You will provide advice and counsel to the general public, process applications for vital event certificates, and amend birth and death records. You will ensure accurate and timely provision of data for birth certificate issues against live birth records, apply knowledge of laws and regulations to correct records, and provide in-person counsel to consumers regarding vital event records, certificates, and permits. This role requires the ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion with customers as well as exercise vigilance while examining applications, identifications, and documents for possible fraudulent information. In addition, you will prepare daily revenue deposits, complete daily production reports, and maintain a filing system in compliance with record retention schedules.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
