Business Coordinator

The Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Business Coordinator. This position will provide fiscal support to various internal and external grants within the Humanities and Social Sciences Divisions, as well assist in training peer staff responsible for similar actions. This position will work closely with the Dietrich School Sponsored Projects Team and serve as a liaison between the department(s) and the Division Business Office, the Dietrich School Dean's Office, the Dietrich School Payroll, the Events Team, and various University Business Offices. The primary responsibilities are processing grant funded travel expense reimbursements, advance settlements, One Card and Panther Express purchases, professional service and contract agreements. Likewise, this position will assist in training new and existing Dietrich School staff engaged in similar objectives. Provides comparable service and back-up to other Dietrich School departments as needed.

Job Summary

Facilitates bill processing, expenditure tracking, and account reconciliations. Maintains effective customer service and vendor coordination, validates and enters data, performs routine analyses, and assists with administrative budgetary activities.

Essential Functions

The successful candidate will use a computer extensively. They must be capable of oral, written, and electronic communications. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. In addition to a computer, they must be able to use a telephone and other general office equipment including but not limited to fax machines, photocopiers, scanners, printers, etc.

Physical Effort

This position is generally sedentary within an office setting, but the ability to travel around campus is occasionally necessary. Also, must be able to pick-up and carry 25 pounds.
