Posting Summary | The Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine, which is part of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a senior level Professor with Tenure in the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS) - Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. The successful candidate will be a Resident Faculty Member in the Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine (CABM), where the research laboratory for this position will be housed.The successful candidate will serve in an administrative capacity, at the will of the Dean, as the Senior Associate Dean for Physician Scientist Development at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Additionally, the successful candidate will serve in an administrative capacity, at the will of the CABM Director, in a leadership role in the Rutgers University Microbiome Program (RUMP). Major duties and responsibilities include: * Develop a robust research program focused on pulmonary medicine and the microbiome * Serve as part of the Dean's Executive Leadership team * Develop and implement training and support structure to ensure success of the RWJMS Physician Scientist Development Program * Support scholarly research goals of the RWJMS-Department of Medicine and the CABM through applying for research grants/ contracts and securing additional peer- reviewed support. * Support the educational goals and activities of the Department of Medicine through teaching and service, including participation in the teaching of medical and graduate students and mentorship of trainees in the laboratory. * Participate in clinical services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital |

Minimum Education and Experience | Successful applicants will have a M.D. degree * A strong record of scholarship in pulmonary medicine and the microbiome * A sustained record of major extramural research funding as Principal Investigator * Experience teaching at undergraduate and/or graduate level * Experience mentoring students and trainees as well as early career faculty * Strong written and oral communication skills for both professional and general audiences * Evidence of leadership and national and/or international impact and recognition |
