Job Summary

Colgate-Palmolive is currently recruiting for an Associate/Plant Procurement Manager for the North America division and is based in Piscataway, New Jersey. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the supply and quality of all direct materials used for the oral care portfolio. In addition, you will be managing the cost and risk management of materials groups assigned to you. You will coordinate all the assessment & resolution of sourcing related issues for materials/suppliers and interface with the Director of Manufacturing and End to End Supply chain with appropriate communication and support.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage suppliers, materials, and procurement processes to deliver performance objectives, as measured by corporate, division and local critical metrics.

  • Facilitate relationship between suppliers & plant functions. Identifies and resolves all material Customer Service and Quality issues in the Division.

  • Collaborate with Category Manufacturing Services to develop risk management strategies for key materials.

  • Anticipate and escalate issues, and facilitate their resolution, related to new materials/supplier introduction

  • Ensure timely delivery of new products & packages as per Division grids and any material portfolio initiatives

  • Ensure achievement of the Purchasing Key Performance Indicators (Customer Service, Non-Conformance, UPDT due to material shortage, Cost Saving Initiatives, Single Source Management, Supplier Diversity)

  • Ensure implementation of Key Initiatives with suppliers ( Enhanced Supplier Program, Contract Coverage, Supplier Responsible Sourcing, Vendor Scorecard).

  • Lead Division efforts in using “e-tools” (Auctions, Spend Analyzer, etc.) to help drive Funding the Growth, simplification, and standardization programs.

  • Lead the implementation of Supplier Managed Inventory with appropriate suppliers.

  • Provides functional resources, including support on task forces, acquisition studies, and major project support.

  • Responsible for budget preparation and completion using divisional/global commodity market insights

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 4 years of Procurement, Supply Chain, Financial or Marketing related experience

  • Solid understanding of planning, operation or raw/packaging materials including SAP systems and google suite tools

  • Experience with developing material strategies & cost models

Preferred qualifications:

  • An advanced degree (MBA) or professional certification (CPM, CPIM, or Project Management) is desirable

  • Plant operations Experience

  • Practical experience with core procurement skills, such as market analysis, contract development and management, supplier selection, negotiation, supplier performance and supplier relationship management, as well as some Marketing specific knowledge.

  • Practical experience in creating RFP’s (Request for Proposals).

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $133,000 - $150,000 USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
