Intel Supply Chain Analytics Data Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona

Job Description

Are you looking for a highly complex challenge and an opportunity to help accelerate Intel's growth and data transformation? This position is for a Data Engineer in the Supply Chain Enabling Solutions (SCES) Operational Analytics and Automation Team within Supply Chain (FMSC) organization that supports Intel's Supply Chain. The ideal candidate will be inquisitive, motivated and have a strong affinity to data and business processes with proven experience in delivering analytics and data solutions within the supply chain domain. You will join the team as a Data Engineer supporting globally dispersed FMSC-SC organizations.

The Data Engineer/Data Architect is responsible for designing, creating, deploying, and managing an organization's supply chain data roadmap and architecture. This role involves defining how the data will be stored, integrated, and consumed by different data entities and systems for analytics and reporting.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Learn and maintain a deep understanding of the data sources, and work with multiple stakeholders, to understand data requirements for supply chain business process. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, data PM's and architects on several projects.

  • Develop ETL and ELT solutions with multiple data sources both, on prem and cloud. You will develop data models and structures to enable statisticians, data scientists, and analysts to work with data. Ingests data from disparate data sources and creates performance optimized data pipelines for data scientists, analysts, and BI reporting. You will be working with legacy and current systems including SAP HANA, Teradata (EDW) and Azure Cloud.

  • Apply expertise in SQL, unstructured data, cloud technologies, and data modeling for analysis and software development which are used to design, improve, optimize and scale applications while interfacing with application owners, developers, and project managers. Recommends and implements tools and processes to enable rapid development, deployment, and operation of big data solutions.

  • Clean and validate data to ensure data quality, reliability, scalability and completeness and set up for consumption.

  • Develops tools and scripts to monitor server-side components and streamlines operational efficiency and procedures. Integrates data from files, streams, and databases, designs, develops, and maintains data systems, warehouses, and pipelines, troubleshoots problems, and triages complex operational issues.

  • Designs automated tests such as end to end integration tests, performance tests, acceptance tests, and unit tests.

  • Own and manage cloud platforms and maintain secure data infrastructure as needed, and partner and align with Enterprise Reference standards.

  • Mentors engineers and other technical staff on the development of big data technologies and applications and supports application teams faced with architectural decisions or complex technical problems related to scaling and tuning.

  • Work with Data Scientists and Data Analysts to understand data needs for enabling analytics for Supply Chain.

  • Define and drive standards, guidelines and governance. Perform code reviews, change control, production deployments and publish and maintain release notes.

  • Define work packages for Contractor and manage the development and delivery.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science/ Data Science/Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field of study and 8+ years of experience with Business Analytics or a Master's degree in the above-mentioned fields and 5+ years of experience with Business Analytics.

2+ years of experience in:

  • Data management, Data solutioning, data integration and data warehousing and design

  • Database technologies, ETL tools, data modeling, data security, data governance

  • Data architecture / platforms (MS Azure, PBI)

  • Data design Analytics:

  • ETL technologies, with Python, ADF, data bricks , Snowflake and some SSIS

  • SQL, Python programming.

  • Work in an Agile environment with 2-week sprints

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements. Exposure to Intel Supply Chain systems.

  • Familiarity with enabling data pipelines to feed machine learning models and their data needs.

  • Experience with SSAS Tabular, Power BI skills to support self-service customers.

  • Knowledge of release processes like Azure Devops, GitHub and CI/CD

  • C#/.Net experience a plus

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
