U-Haul Site Reliability – Linux System Administrator in Phoenix, Arizona

Site Reliability – Linux System Administrator

Salary: Starting at $84,000

Summary: U-Haul is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to join the Site Reliability team. The ideal candidate will have an outgoing personality, be self-motivated, have strong interpersonal skills, and a positive attitude. Additionally, they will have experience working with multiple Linux distros, and containers in a highly virtual environment.

Duties:

· Support Linux servers and applications running on Linux

· Various operating systems such as CentOS, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu

· Various programs and technologies like redis, postgres, ldap, kubernetes, docker, etc

· Provide training to other teams to grow their Linux experience.

· Work with our automation team to create automation around our Linux environment.

· Respond to outages as they relate to our Linux environment.

Requirements/Education:

· 5+ years supporting various Linux operating systems

· Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet

· Experience with scripting languages, like bash, python, and powershell

· Experience working with CI/CD deployments is a plus

· Experience working with scrum is a plus

· Basic Azure and Azure Active Directory knowledge is a plus

Since 1945, U-Haul has been serving do-it-yourself movers and their households. Like many other successful ventures, the concept for U-Haul was generated out of need. After World War II, there existed the widespread need for do-it-yourself moving equipment that would be available on a one-way, nationwide basis. U-Haul co-founders L.S. "Sam" Shoen and his wife, Anna Mary Carty Shoen, recognized that need and acted upon it. Their visionary approach spread the cost of ownership among many users, facilitating the mobility of the populations of the U.S. and Canada. The covered wagon of the pioneers morphed into orange U-Haul trailers. In the process, an industry was born.
