Enterprise Data Governance & Platforms (EDGP) is part of the larger Enterprise Digital and Data Solutions (EDDS) organization. EDGP improves the customer experience and drives business growth through robust enterprise-wide data policies and governance and enabling a data-driven culture, while developing digital and data platforms that provide insightful customer relationships and allow users to leverage enterprise-wide data capabilities.

We are looking for a strategic, experienced individual for the role of Business Architecture Sr Product Manager, responsible for partnering across business units, enterprise technology teams, and product/platform/vendor teams to define and enable the products and functionality required to activate the company’s Enterprise Business Capability (EBC) model.

As a Business Architecture Senior Product Manager , you will be part of a highly visible, strategic team focused on creating a common enterprise business language and ecosystem to integrate and connect the key components of our business leading to reduced costs, risks & complexity and increased alignment, speed & agility. The Business Architecture team delivers a cross-Enterprise Business Capability blueprint that provides a common understanding of the business and transparency to the various components that enable our business capabilities in order to effectively prioritize, modernize and govern enterprise-based solutions, services, and experiences.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Expand and promote the Enterprise Business Capability (EBC) Framework as the common language of “what” American Express does to create desired business outcomes and experiences.

  • Develop & deliver strategic product roadmaps for enabling, improving, and driving adoption of business architecture tools to expose the Enterprise Business Capability Model (EBCM).

  • Communicate and manage requirements to product/platform/vendor teams for driving the activation of the EBC tool including integration between key enabling source applications (e.g., Archer, Central, Collibra).

  • Partner with product/platform/vendor teams and key stakeholders to inform the product backlog, continuously deliver product features and enhancements in an agile format.

  • Conduct assessments of Business Architecture tools usability, functionality, and performance to ensure it meets assigned service level agreements and Amex third-party lifecycle requirements.

  • Collaborate with product/platform/vendor teams to drive architecture and design consistency during platform modernization and data migration initiatives.

  • Consult with Business Capability owners and key stakeholders on leveraging the American Express EBC Framework and enabling tools to deliver value in the form of strategic realization & prioritization, transformation & solutioning, risk & compliance, etc.

  • Influence and collaborate with data and technology teams to incorporate business architecture principles and design patterns to increase consistency and operability across the enterprise.

  • Continuously evaluate internal and 3rd party capabilities and solutions to understand opportunities to further streamline, automate and scale business architecture.

Competencies:

  • Expertise in Enterprise Business Capability, Business Architecture, Product Management, Agile

  • Proven experience working in high performing agile teams delivering continuous product features and enhancements, in partnership with Technology teams

  • Experience eliciting and articulating business requirements

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to clearly articulate complexities

  • Excellent communication skills with a demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and encourage partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment

  • Strong ability to work and communicate with both business and technical teams at various levels

  • Self-starter with high motivation and passion, ability to adapt to change

  • Excellent abstract thinking skills, ability to quickly switch b/t conceptual, logical, and physical views

Qualifications:

  • 5 years experience in performing responsibilities of business architecture, enterprise business capability management, product management or related field

  • 2 years as sr product manager preferred

  • Solid understanding of business architecture concepts and best practices with the ability to be an advocate for leveraging enterprise business capability framework to deliver business value

  • 3 years working with business architecture related tools preferred

  • 2 years working with EBC enabling tools (e.g., Page Builder, Airtable) preferred

  • Large enterprise experience preferred

Qualifications

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
