Adair Homes is looking for a Regional Construction Manager(RCM) with a documented track record of driving growth, creating efficiencies, and building a high-performing team.  As the Regional Construction Manager, you will be expected to not only oversee the region's day-to-day Construction, Purchasing and Warranty activities, but will also be a member of the Regional Management that will strategically plan and execute on the region's business plan, with P&L responsibility.   The RCM will report to the Executive Team as a member of the Regional Management Team with respect to performance and to the Director of Field Operations with respect to execution of the roles and responsibilities.

 

As a Regional Construction Manager, you will be expected to:

  • Successfully lead the Region and Individual Branches as part of the Regional Management Team, including the Regional Sales and Purchasing Managers.

  • Manage the day-to-day purchasing, construction and warranty operations for the region, including creating and driving initiatives in this area, annual business planning, and your teams accountable to the region's KPI's

  • Achieve established corporate construction starts, cycle times, closings, and customer experience scores.

    Desired Skills and Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree or ten years related experience

  • Strong business acumen

  • Highly proficient in using computer programs such as Google Email, Sheets, and Calendar, Salesforce and IHMS or comparable software  

  • Proven track record of achieving results

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Corporate Construction Platform team  and Regional Management partners to develop the construction related goals and initiatives for inclusion in the Annual Business Plan

  • Calculate and present the number of starts and closings the region, and branches within, will need to meet the revenue targets

  • Develop and maintain a strategic role within the region with a focus on understanding the market, opportunities, competition, threats and potential trade partnerships

  • Recruit and hire Construction Superintendents using the standard guidelines and tools. Collaborate with Regional Branches and other Regional Managers to ensure maximum ROI on company assets

  • Research and collaborate with leadership to create and develop new markets

  • Collaboration with Regional Partners to make floor plans, base house specifications, and option recommendations based on market needs.  

  • Collaboration with the Regional Management Team to create a common goal performance environment at the Branch and Regional level

  • Evaluate each branch for maintenance, updates, and capital improvements 

  • Attends all Branch meetings either in person or by phone.

  • Joins Branch Superintendents in field work, when possible.

  • Trains and educates construction staff.

  • Supports the HR Department in hiring, onboarding, yearly employee evaluations, and termination duties of assigned construction staff.

  • Communicates with clients, trades base, vendors, branch staff, executive staff, etc., when issues elevate beyond branch construction team.

  • Develops and manages the setting and achievement of branch productivity goals on a weekly, quarterly, and yearly basis.

  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.

  • Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation

  • skills required in working with customers and coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.

Time On-Site:

  • Maintain a rotating branch visiting schedule in collaboration with the Director of Field Operations  (Branch visits min. twice each month)

  • Travel requirements are 2-3 days a week

  • Travel to corporate as requested by the Director of Field Operations 

  • Rotate with Regional Team to attend/lead monthly BeONE Branch meeting
