With the support of the community, the Dementia Care and Education Campus, an innovation of Hospice of the Valley, is a comprehensive resource for those living with all stages of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. The Campus will provide full-spectrum care for persons living with mild, moderate, or advanced dementia and support for their families. A 12-person Assisted Living Center, a 24-member Adult Day Club with adjoining Child Center, and a 12-person Hospice Inpatient Care Home will provide superb and creative person-centered care. The Community Education Center will educate and inspire physicians, nurses, social workers, caregivers, occupational therapists, music therapists, families, and the community to improve quality of life for persons living with dementia.

Pay: up to $1800 Attendance Bonus per year and up to $300 Bilingual Bonus per year

Position Profile

This role will work in our palliative care units serving patients whose symptoms can't be managed at home and patients who need respite care while the family caregiver is away. The nursing assistant provides individualized quality care to patients - including bathing, grooming and personal care and develops personal connections that support both patient and family. Our inpatient nursing assistants work with an interdisciplinary team of highly skilled professionals in an inpatient setting. Our Levine Home inpatient unit is a beautiful 12-bed facility located in Phoenix.

Responsibilities

  • Provides engaging person-centered activities for adult day club members

  • Performs quality individualized personal care.

  • Contributes to the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the unit.

  • Assures patient, staff and visitor safety.

  • Creates timely and accurate documentation.

  • Maintains and enhances professional skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Arizona C.N.A. or Caregivers.

  • Current CPR certification.

  • Current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Solution driven, creative and resourceful problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage time well and perform assigned duties with attention detail, accuracy and follow-through.

  • Proficient computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous dementia care experience.
