GovCIO Architecture and Engineering Lead (Part-Time Remote) in Phoenix, Arizona
Overview
GovCIO is currently hiring an Architecture & Engineering Lead to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Candidates must have experience with solutions delivery architecture within the VA. This position will be fully remote located within the United States.
Responsibilities
Advance Veteran-centric digital service delivery by developing and implementing repeatable processes that optimize software development resource availability and performance.
Accelerate modernization by translating high-level technical requirements into actionable, future-state designs and modules for CODE VA, applying private-sector innovation frameworks.
Drive continuous improvement through biweekly publication of transparent performance metrics, enabling rapid adjustments that enhance software delivery to Veterans.
Strengthen platform resilience and technical excellence by creating and delivering training materials for current and future Utility and Platform owners, ensuring consistent application of best practices.
Enhance system accountability and transparency by publishing critical software processes and performance metrics, ensuring stakeholders are aligned and developers are equipped to deliver modern, world-class digital experiences.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Resource Management, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
15+ years of experience
10 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education
Required Skills and Experience
Experience working in Jira, Visio, VASI, and Microsoft Suite
Experience analyzing, designing, and optimizing business processes
Experience with core applications within the VA
Strong analytical skills
Must be a problem solver
Clearance Required:
- Ability to obtain and maintain Suitability / Public Trust clearance

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

USD $65.00 - USD $72.00 /Yr.
