Salience Learning Vice President, Consulting (Life Science Learning) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

As a Vice President within the Learning Consulting Practice, you will act as a strategist, business parter and leader within Salience Learning. The person in this role will be responsible for growing the organization’s capabilities by developing, managing the existing client relationships, and aiding in generating new business engagements. In addition, the VP will be expected to leverage their combined expertise in the life sciences, adult learning, and business development to contribute to the continued development of the team and success of the firm. This person will need to fully understand the company and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to serve clients by developing solutions and offerings relevant to our client base. You will work closely with our biotech and pharmaceutical client’s to understand their critical L&D needs and consult with them to deliver value, providing innovative and actionable solutions. Finally, you will be responsible for leading teams of innovative learning & consulting professionals in a matrix environment as well as guide and support the development of project deliverables.
Primary Responsibilities:
New Business Development (40%)
Co-create and execute an account planning strategy to drive new business and growth of existing accounts across all segments of Salience Learning’s business (strategy, consulting services, learning programs and capability academies), in collaboration with Salience Leadership and Blue Matter business partners, to drive significant growth of the business
Lead prospecting and business development to drive new business acquisition against your revenue target
Project Lead (60%)
Lead project teams in the execution of internal and external projects which are delivered on-time, within budget and ensuring they meet Salience’s quality standards
Engage and build strong relationships with the executive level client
Develop the strategic intent of a project and work with the client and the broader Salience Learning team to define learning or project objectives
Recruit, develop, lead and retain top talent
Provide strategic direction and day-to-day coaching and enablement to the team
Experience and Capabilities:
Minimum of eight years working within the biopharmaceutical industry, of which at least six should be in management consulting
Bachelors degree in learning, science, or business preferred
6+ years of consulting experience in learning or talent development function strongly preferred
5+ years business development experience, specifically establishing and growing a book of business within life sciences
Demonstrated history of building and leading consulting teams
Demonstrated experience of developing new prospects, driving revenue, and delivering high quality projects and services within budget
Executive level presence and communication skills
Forward thinking and self-starter who thrives on new challenges, imagines solutions, and adapts quickly;
Strong analytics and problem-solving skills
Fluency in English is required
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree(s) (PhD, MD, MBA, or MS)
Experience with Apple Mac laptops preferred
Fluency in at least one European or Asian language is desirable
