We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Structural Engineer to join our Philadelphia Buildings team. You’ll design vertical and below grade structures for corporate, higher education, healthcare, research and development, data centers, and manufacturing facilities. You’ll perform feasibility studies for the early stages of design. You’ll perform structural calculations and produce reports, construction drawings and specifications.

When you join us, you may act as lead engineer on design teams in support of medium to technically complex projects. Additionally, you’ll interact with project management and provide proposal and qualifications information to support the ongoing business goals of the operation.

Our projects bring innovative solutions to our clients’ challenges locally and worldwide. You’ll have the opportunity to expand and grow, learn and lead through challenging projects and working closely with our multi-discipline design teams, Senior Project Managers, and our clients.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural emphasis

  • 5 years’ experience in designing building structures

  • Engineer in Training, (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain in 6 months

  • Experience working in a multi-discipline project team

  • Experience providing construction support services for building projects

  • Possess working knowledge of current industry codes and standards and have experience with the latest engineering analysis software and techniques.

  • Previous experience with building information modeling software and production is required

  • Ability to communicate across disciplines and management teams, while maintaining professional presence in representing Jacobs in client meetings

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering (or Civil Engineering with a Structural Emphasis)

  • Experience with healthcare /institutional /commercial /industrial /manufacturing buildings

  • Experience with Bluebeam, Revit and NavisWorks

  • Experience with leading industry Structural design and analysis software (RAM, STAAD, SAP2000, RISA, etc.)

  • Structural Engineer, (S.E.) license

  • Professional Engineer, (P.E.) license
