WSP USA Senior Technical Manager, Hydrogeology in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

This Opportunity

WSP USA Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Manager, Hydrogeologist to join our Blue Bell, PA office. The following offices will also be considered: Philadelphia, PA and Exton, PA. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to combine deep technical expertise, team leadership, and business development in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment.

As a senior leader in our Site Investigation and Remediation Earth & Environment Team , you’ll lead complex environmental projects, mentor a growing team of professionals, and help drive strategic pursuits across sectors. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, data-based solutions that help clients manage risk and move forward with confidence.

Your Impact

  • Lead complex environmental projects involving subsurface investigations, site characterization, and remedial alternatives analysis that emphasizes innovative, data-driven solutions tailored to site-specific challenges.

  • Translate environmental data into actionable insights by developing robust conceptual site models and supporting contaminant transport and fate evaluations.

  • Deliver expert insights and guidance on regulatory strategy and compliance.

  • Mentor and manage a high-performing team , fostering collaboration, technical growth, and career development across experience levels.

  • Engage directly with clients to understand their goals, build trusted relationships, and deliver forward-thinking and strategic solutions tailored to site and regulatory conditions.

  • Drive growth through strategic pursuits – supporting proposal development and client strategy across WSP’s industrial/commercial and federal portfolios.

  • Support project execution and delivery excellence , ensuring teams meet client expectations while managing technical quality, budgets, schedules, and health & safety standards.

  • Collaborate across service lines and geographies , contributing to strategic planning, business development, and cross-disciplinary initiatives.

  • Model inclusive and ethical leadership , helping to shape a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a closely related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting with a focus on contaminant hydrogeology, remediation, and regulatory strategy.

  • Expertise in subsurface investigation methods, contaminant fate and transport, and remedial alternatives evaluation.

  • Proven leadership in managing teams, mentoring staff, and building collaborative work environments.

  • Track record of successful project delivery and client engagement across multiple sectors.

  • Clear, confident communicator – capable of translating technical findings for varied audiences and working across teams.

  • Deep understanding of environmental regulations, including CERCLA, RCRA, and state-specific cleanup programs.

  • Comfortable managing project budgets, timelines, and deliverables with attention to detail and quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.

  • Professional Geologist (PG) license or equivalent state registration.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.

  • Experience with groundwater modeling and data visualization tools.
