Job Summary: The Research Assistant in the College of Science & Technology's Biology division is responsible for research projects to integrate biodiversity science with human ecology. Manages the day-to-day operations of the lab including ecological data mining, managing undergraduate research assistants, database maintenance, lab administration and project management. The primary focus of this role is on spotted lanternfly and other relevant ecological and computational systems. Additional responsibilities include writing texts for manuscripts, monitoring and maintaining the physical security of equipment and facilities. Performs other related duties as assigned Essential Funtions of Position: Assists in research of projects and supervise undergraduate students. Enters and performs quality control for lab database. Assists with purchasing supplies and equipment for the laboratory Assists in the receipt, distribution and storage of supplies as they arrive Perform website maintenance for the laboratory Monitors and maintains physical security of equipment and facilities. Writes text for manuscripts. Code in R or other relevant computer language. Perform other duties as assigned Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in biology, environmental science or other relevant field and six months of related research experience. Research/laboratory experience on spotted lanternfly or other ecological and computational systems. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Preferred: Experience on spotted lanternfly or other ecological and computational systems.
