General Job Description This is affirmative action contract compliance work at the full performance level reviewing bids, contracts and compliance plans, and participating in the certification of minority/disadvantaged business firms. The employee is responsible for reviewing applications for certification, interviewing business firm representatives, reviewing financial records, and monitoring contracts for compliance with federal, state, and local affirmative action guidelines and regulations. Work includes analyzing certified minority/disadvantaged, disabled, and female owned and controlled firms to determine their level of participation prior to bidding, and whether that firm is performing a commercially acceptable function. Work differs from that of the next lower class in that employees are assigned to projects of greater scope and complexity requiring the exercise of greater independence of judgement. Significant to the work is establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with representatives of departments, agencies, and businesses. Work is performed under the supervision of a technical superior and may involve rotating assignments between units.

 

The Requirements are as follows:

EDUCATION

Completion of a bachelor's degree program at an accredited college or university.  

NOTE: Certification as a Certified Compliance Administrator by the American Contract Compliance Association or an industry-relevant certification or additional experience may substitute for the required degree.

 

AND  

EXPERIENCE:  

Option 1 Two years of experience in affirmative action contract compliance and certification work ensuring compliance with rules, regulations, and guidelines, and encouraging the selection of minority/disadvantaged, disabled, and female owned and controlled enterprises  

OR  

Option 2 Two years of administrative experience interpreting regulations, laws, and procedures applicable to affirmative action to encourage compliance with stakeholders.  

NOTE: Completion of a master's degree or certificate program from an accredited college or university or recognized professional association in a related field may substitute for one year of the required experience.
