DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an IFSS, you are responsible for directing a fire prevention and safety program at DVVH.

Work involves coordinating disaster drills, ensuring the drills meet local, state and federal regulations, and teaching the proper use of emergency response equipment. Also, you develop and conduct a facility-wide safety program in compliance with the requirements of the Accident and Illness Prevention Program (AIPP) and the department's safety policies and procedures. In addition, you serve as an advisor to the Veterans Home Safety Committee and its constituent subcommittees. This includes researching and investigating all work related incidents and identifying all safety concerns and hazards received at DVVH.

Other duties include managing the security force at DVVH through subordinate Security Officer 2s. You perform supervisory duties such as preparing and signing employee performance reviews, approving and disapproving leave requests, and making recommendations for disciplinary actions.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Three years of institution safety work, including one year of fire prevention and fire fighting work, and completion of two years of college; or one year of institutional fire and safety work, and a bachelor's degree; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Additional Requirement:

You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
