A Brief Overview The AVP Revenue Cycle & Business Operations for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Practice Association (CHOPPA), is a critical leadership position within the Physician Organization. This role is responsible for the strategic, operational, and financial direction and oversight of the revenue cycle in CHOPPA. She/he provides leadership for process and technology improvements, financial stewardship and key revenue cycle initiatives. This role is also responsible for implementing a new operational model to transform and streamline business processes. The role will partner with clinical and administrative leaders across the practices to optimize operational performance and results. Reporting directly to the CFO, CHOPPA, she/he effectively partners with the Vice Chairs of Administration, Department Chairs, and system senior leaders to ensure operational alignment among the departments, and with the broader organization.

What you will do Integrates and facilitates best practices to achieve efficiencies throughout the revenue cycle. Provides strategic leadership within the revenue cycle function to improve performance, reduce and prevent denials, promptly resolve problems, address challenges and benefit from opportunities. Ensures continued process improvement strategies and efficiencies through development of principles, tools, and techniques throughout the revenue cycle, and in implementing a new operational model. Analyzes and reviews the accuracy and appropriateness of contractual adjustments, payments and denials to ensure contract adherence to payor contracts. Ensures quality control of all aspects of the revenue cycle. Ensures internal and external customer satisfaction in all areas of responsibility. Represents CHOPPA in managed care contract negotiations, driving payor arrangements that align with CHOPPA and enterprise strategy and goals. Continuously scans market for payor changes, informs CHOPPA leaders of anticipated impact, and recommends mitigants. Monitors and addresses drivers that impede timeliness of charge entry and capture. Promotes compliance and awareness with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) including privacy, security and transaction code sets. Works collaboratively with hospital billing office ensuring alignment. Oversees and works collaboratively with the information services department and the hospital revenue cycle office to enhance the technology capabilities throughout patient financial services (PFS). Oversees PFS IS requests. Oversees information systems activities required for efficient operations of the office. Supports the development of a diverse, successful administrative team that is credible, proactive, and trusted across the entire enterprise. Implements and enforces policies and procedures to improve organizational effectiveness. Develops the ext generation of leaders through an emphasis on coaching, delegated decision-making, and a culture of respect. Grows team capabilities through stretch assignments. Monitors and addresses any issues identified in engagement or well-being assessment. Creates the culture that views innovation and change as a desirable and necessary norm, and engages people as co-creators of change.

Education Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Accounting, finance, or related field. Required Master's Degree Preferred

Experience Qualifications At least ten (10) years in patient financial services, including comprehensive responsibility for both financial back-end functions. Required At least ten (10) years of leadership experience in a medical center environment. Required At least ten (10) years of demonstrated experience leading large-scale change and the change management and communications associated with this. Required
