Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving & Alumni Engagement, the Associate Director serves as a key partner in implementing a comprehensive annual giving program and supporting innovative programs that advance a culture of philanthropy with La Salle's more than 60,000 alumni around the world. The Associate Director will work closely with the Advancement team to facilitate volunteer opportunities and programs designed to build connections between students and alumni that will strengthen lifelong engagement and encourage a mutually beneficial and shared investment in the university. This position will work internally with students, faculty and staff, members of the Career Development team and all members of University Advancement, and externally with alumni and donors.
Essential Duties
- Assists in key Annual Giving projects, including the solicitation of alumni and parents, writing and coordinating direct mail and email campaigns, the annual La Salle Day of Giving, social media marketing efforts and stewardship materials.
- Supports the execution of engagement efforts with alumni, including Homecoming Weekend, basketball games, the annual Charter Dinner, alumni award programs, and other on and off-campus opportunities.
- Creates and distributes the alumni E-Newsletter to inform alumni about opportunities to deepen their connection to La Salle.
- Works closely with colleagues in Advancement Operations to improve database capabilities in terms of tracking, list pulling and reporting.
- Collaborates on projects with the Alumni Association Board of Directors.
- Partners with colleagues in Marketing and Communications to develop brand-aligned messaging.
- Collaborates with University partners to produce La Salle Magazine.
- Serves as a point of contact for external stakeholders related to giving opportunities at La Salle University.
- Implements, manages, and monitors Student Phonathons at various points throughout the year and ensures the program meets its annual giving goals.
Advises the University Advancement Ambassador Program with leadership from the Director of Annual Giving & Alumni Engagement.

- Bachelor's Degree; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- 1-2 years of alumni engagement, fundraising, or applicable relationship/customer service experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with internal campus partners and external with donors and affinity group members.
- Excellent customer service mindset.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Capable of managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
- Understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Salesforce or other customer relations management databases.
- Background with stewardship tools like ThankView.

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours
- Able to travel and work evenings and weekends occasionally.
