Neshoba General Hospital is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in venipuncture and capillary sticks for both adult and pediatric patients. The Phlebotomist will play a crucial role in the collection and transportation of blood and other specimens for diagnostic testing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the process.
Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary sticks accurately and efficiently on adult and pediatric patients.
- Collect blood and other specimens according to established protocols and procedures.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and transportation of specimens to the laboratory for analysis.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to infection control guidelines and safety protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, family members, and healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Utilize computer systems for data entry, specimen tracking, and result reporting.
- Handle phone inquiries and communicate professionally with patients and healthcare staff.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary sticks for both adult and pediatric patients.
- Strong customer relation skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills for data entry and electronic medical record management.
- Previous experience in a physician's office or phlebotomy setting is preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required.
