Elite Contracting Group Fence Installer in Petersburg, Virginia

Elite Contracting Group is seeking a Fence Installer to join our Central Region Office in Petersburg, Virginia.  As a Fence Installer, you will be responsible for constructing and installing various types of fences according to specifications and requirements. You will work primarily outdoors, often in varying weather conditions. Key Responsibilities:

  • Fence Installations: Install fence such as chainlink, vinyl, and ornamental to industry standard. Will be required to use appropriate tools and equipment, ensuring accuracy and precision in measurements and alignment. Installing concrete pads for gate operators and stanchion pads for access control devices is not mandatory but a plus.

  • Material Handling: Handle various fencing materials safely and efficiently.

  • Site Preparation: Prepare the work area by clearing debris, marking boundaries, and assessing the terrain for potential challenges or obstacles

  • Post Installation: Set posts securely in the ground, using concrete, to ensure stability and longevity of the fence structure

  • Assembly and Construction: Assemble fence panels, gates, and other components according to design plans and specifications, maintaining quality and craftsmanship throughout the installation process.

  • Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on existing fences.

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to minimize accidents and injuries on the job site, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of tools and materials.

  • Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and preferences, address any concerns or questions, and ensure their satisfaction with the completed fencing project.

  • Team Collaboration: Maintain professional and clear communication with all colleagues at all points in time.

    Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of related experience

  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, such as drills, saws, and post hole diggers

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and alignment of fence components

  • Problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues that may arise during installation

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and colleagues

  • Commitment to safety protocols and practices to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment

    Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time

  • Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas

  • Must be able to lift, push, and carry 50 – 70 pounds

  • Must be able to work in various conditions, including but not limited to extreme heat and cold

    Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to work Monday – Friday 7:00AM – 5:00PM; additional work, including on-call, may be required

  • Must maintain a satisfactory background record

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
