Abbott Supply Chain Manager in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia
This position effectively drives the monthly Sales & Operations (S&OP) Planning Process for assigned product lines, including development & implementation of strategies to support product launch planning, inventory & obsolescence management, product rationalization, and monitoring of key demand planning performance indicators. The Demand and Supply Planning Specialist is also responsible for executing and monitoring all supply & distribution planning activities to ensure timely availability of material while meeting inventory targets, minimizing obsolescence, and optimizing costs. Overall responsibility includes ensuring accurate business assumptions and integration with business plans to reduce forecast error. Owning finished goods inventory target methodology used across global distribution sites for assigned products.
Demand Planning & Forecasting
Lead monthly S&OP review meetings and challenge the assumptions and numbers provided in the analysis to solicit functional knowledge to improve forecast accuracy
Submit periodic Net Requirement Forecast through SAP, based on cross-functional discussions, analyses on sales forecast, new product launches, phase-In/out schedule, etc.
Work closing with sales and marketing teams, regulatory, global planning, finance, and local supply chain team striving to provide an accurate demand signal
Supply Planning
Review and manage STOs generated by the system. Minimize manual process
Handle Sales Order and shipments, liaising closely with Distributor, regulatory, both regional and global planning to secure the allocation
Place manual STOs when required
Follow up and expedite shipment with distribution centers/ factories/ suppliers
Determine and maintain SNP parameters in SNP
Inventory Planning and Control
Monitor excess or aged stocks by connecting sales & marketing on clearance plan and RCA as well as a warehouse on execution to minimize the write-off
Ensure all SOPs are in place and comply with the procedure detailed
Monitor safety stock and reorder points without hampering the customer service levels
Monitor DOH and drive DOH reduction
Monitor backorder and Line Fill Rate
Manage stakeholders when there is a crisis on supply and give solutions to minimize exposure risk
Reporting
Create reports on sales/demand forecast accuracy, run-rate, inventory, short UBD, expiry, etc.
Maintain forecasts and planning factors in the demand planning system
Continuous Improvement
Execute continuous improvement of forecasting process while maintaining costs and scrap rate at the appropriate level
Drive inventory optimization and DOH for cost-saving
Provide training to team members to enhance the quality of work
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Execute the job responsibilities according to applicable standard operating procedures of Abbott
Prepare for Audits, Compliances & SOX, etc., Documentations
Ensure applicable SOP of Abbott executed
Backup Customer Service/ Freight & Distribution functions and when required
Ad hoc projects
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum diploma or the equivalent of College graduate
At least 3 years of working experience in similar roles
Strong analytical capability and planning skill
Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written & presentation skills) in English
Excellent interpersonal skills to handle issues impacting the balance of supply and demand
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Able to organize and prioritize work
Demonstrates a basic level of computer literacy with high numerical accuracy
