Kleinfelder, Inc. Construction Observer in Perrysburg, Ohio

Kleinfelder's Construction Services team is looking for you! From construction management and observation/inspection services to laboratory testing and materials and forensic engineering, our Construction Services market helps to develop and maintain America's infrastructure and supply chain and is a recognized industry leader with more than 25 accredited laboratories. As a Construction Observer, you will support field observations for infrastructure construction projects that include water and wastewater utility and treatment plants, storm sewers, and roadway construction. This position will report to the Perrysburg, OH office. Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between Kleinfelders project team, the general contractor, and the client.
  • Observe construction sites and the various work activities on these sites to standards, codes and specifications.
  • Complete and maintain records of field observations, including daily reports outlining the work performed, and field measurements and calculations for the quantity of completed work for eligible payment.
  • Follow and adhere to all federal and state regulations, client requirements and contracts, and company policies and procedures.
  • Analyze construction drawings and specifications to detect inconsistencies or conflicts.
  • Participate in Kleinfelders safety culture.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates degree in construction management preferred.
  • 3+ years construction experience related to municipal infrastructure.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn, construction material quality standards.
  • Fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction.
  • Adept at reviewing and comparing construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Willingness to travel.
