Summary

Forklift Maintenance Technicians perform preventive maintenance and repairs to keep this equipment operating properly and safely. As a forklift technician, your job is to work as a mechanic and service heavy equipment like forklifts. To fulfill the responsibilities and duties of this job, you may complete preventative maintenance, repair brakes and suspension systems, diagnose electrical issues, and train junior technicians as needed.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Must have met all requirements of class C.

  2. Show leadership & be able to train new maintenance associates, as well as, Class C or Class B technicians.

  3. Pneumatics including pressure regulators, lubricators, flow controls, solenoids, cylinders, rails, actuators - System

  4. Hydraulic Systems Utility

  5. Gear Box Maintenance including seals and lubrication

  6. Report via email on issues that occur in your area.

  7. PM Documentation

  8. Basic Electrical Theory and Troubleshooting

  9. General Blueprints / Manuals / PNID

  10. Valves, selection, maintenance, PM, Troubleshooting Valves, selection, maintenance, PM, Troubleshooting

Minimum Education

High School or equivalent

Experience Requirements

0 -2 years. Reading, writing and analytical skills are required. Must have all personal tools and have the ability to learn to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment.

Experience Preferred

Electrical Lift repair knowledge preferred.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  1. Ability to work for 8 hours in a stationary position or travel on a wet, moist, dry, greasy, floors which may include medal or plastic grating surfaces with up to 4 hours in a single interval.

  2. Ability to work from various types of ladders.

  3. Exposure to and work in temperatures of less than -40 degrees and 75 degrees with ambient humidity, also will require from time to time working outside, on roof, during all seasons of the year and temperatures associated with the seasons.

  4. Noise of 110 db, and light intensity range of 50 to 100 foot candles.

  5. Bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting, and grasping varies in repetitions, distance, degrees, angle, weight, heights, longest interval of time, objects grasped, and body positions depending upon the maintenance task required.

  6. Exposure to chlorinated water ( 50 ppm, Ammonia vapors ) 5 ppm, dry ice, caustic detergents, lubricating oils, hydraulic oils, and other chemicals found in a poultry processing plant.

  7. Must use and / or wear protective and safety equipment required for the job.
