Job Summary:

The Business Intelligence Analyst role is an exciting opportunity for the driven Caterpillar professional, combining business knowledge with data and visualization capabilities to develop toolsets critical to Caterpillar’s business.

The Business Intelligence Analyst contributes to this development by leveraging his or her quantitative analysis, data management, and/or data visualization skills as an individual contributor to project teams tasked with solving business problems..

Analyzes business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insights to analysts and decision makers. Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences. Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements. May participate in cross functional teams to address business issues. Prototypes solutions for displaying information based on business needs. Participates in 1-2 projects a year.

What You Will Do:

• Independent contributor to multi-person analytics teams

• Demonstrates knowledge and ability to handle basic issues independently

• Incumbents in this position will move to be a project leader on complex and highly visible projects

• Provide assistance to a project team or others in the work group while learning and assisting with projects.

• Support the Business Analyst lead to achieve the annual Vertical target (in $)

• Typically, decisions will impact routine, low risk issues that may affect the project team, suppliers or internal customers

• Locating and obtaining data from various internal and external sources

• Rapidly iterations of new ideas and debug issues

• Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.

What you will have:

• Provide end-to-end BI solutions inclusive of access management, compliance and dashboard delivery

• Utilizing tools such as PowerBI or Tableau for developing dashboards

• Communicates with appropriate teams and stakeholders to elicit and gather requirements

• Proven ability to review and build large data sets into reports and visualizations

• Ability to address business problems and provide suggestions based on results drawn from business data analysis

• Strong communication and project management skills that includes working with stakeholders and business partners

Consideration For Top Candidates:

• Hands-on experience working with Business Intelligence (BI) tools, preferably with Power BI or Tableau

• Understanding of Cat Digital products

• Caterpillar rental product knowledge

Additional Details:

This position has the option to be based out of either our Chicago, IL; Peoria, IL; Dallas, TX

Summary Pay Range:

$87,480.00 - $131,280.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
