Job Title: Back Order SpecialistJob Description

We are seeking a Back Order Specialist to support our planner/schedulers in managing inventory levels and expediting both stock and non-stock backorders. The role involves ensuring adequate inventory to meet distributor requirements, identifying supplier deficiencies, and making fact-based decisions on supplier performance and overtime. The position also includes the responsibility of managing a portion of the premium freight budget and collaborating with planners to proactively cover expected requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support planner/schedulers in managing inventory levels.

  • Expedite non-stock and stock backorders to ensure timely fulfillment.

  • Identify supplier deficiencies and recommend actions for improvement.

  • Ensure supplier lead time accuracy and address issues affecting availability goals.

  • Achieve supplier performance metrics and make data-driven decisions on supplier overtime.

  • Manage a proportional share of the premium freight budget.

  • Collaborate with planners to ensure proactive coverage of demand, kits, firm future orders, and other requirements.

  • Procure and expedite the delivery of parts to support expected demand and replenishment needs.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Previous experience with SAP/ERP systems.

  • Strong attendance record and job tenure.

  • Experience in purchasing, logistics, and procurement.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in supply chain management.

  • Asset inventory management.

  • Data entry skills.

  • Administrative support experience.

Work Environment

This position is onsite with working hours from 7 AM to 3 PM, Monday to Friday. Employees will receive standard federal holidays and 5 days of PTO, which must be accrued. This is a 12-month contract with the potential to become a permanent position, offering significant opportunities for career advancement and pay increases.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
