THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will be responsible for mowing, pruning, and assisting with various landscaping tasks, including mulching, seeding, and maintaining flower beds. You will operate mechanized and motorized groundskeeping equipment such as gang mowers, rollers, and rototillers. Along with clearing stones from sidewalks and roadways, you will also collect and dispose of dead branches, weeds, and rubbish. Additional duties include clearing snow and ice from roads, sidewalks, and parking areas. This role also provides support to maintenance staff in areas like minor masonry, carpentry, plumbing, and preventive maintenance, including patching walls, repairing steps, and performing basic tool upkeep.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 1st shift (6:30 AM to 2:30 PM), Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirement:
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
Experience working in trades such as masonry, carpentry, or plumbing
Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
