JOB OVERVIEW

TE Connectivity's Product Management Teams manage all aspects of a product, from driving new product development to manufacturing to marketing. They are responsible for overall product strategy, business leadership and capacity plans in order to meet sales and profit targets.

We are looking for an exceptionally driven and highly growth focussed Director of Product Management, with a strong technology background that blends strategy and execution to focus on growing our business.

ROLE STATEMENT:

This Director of Product Management role is focussed to grow broad market/IoT portion of the D&D business. This is a P&L and people leadership role with more than 15 product managers in this organization. We are looking for a visionary product leader who can grow the business in the next 5 years though building a compelling product roadmap and selling existing portfolio in adjacent applications. This leader will work with and provide leadership to a cross-functional team of Sales, Engineering, Product Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Strategy to effectively manage and grow the P&L. The role will require extensive interaction with customers, distribution & eco-system partners to determine focus applications, build strong product roadmaps, build strong customer/partner relationships, revenue forecast and attainment.

This is a visible role requiring a high degree of execution discipline, independent strategic thinking, and tolerance to ambiguity. This role will report directly to the VP of Product Management & Marketing, who is part of the Data and Devices divisional leadership team. The ideal candidate will be an able to independently manage this business, be part of the VP’s leadership team, participate & lead strategic initiatives and be a strong promoter of inclusivity and diversity. We are looking for a experienced ready now candidate for succession.

TASKS and RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for P&L with ambitious growth targets

  • Provide effective leadership and coaching to team on growth strategies, building product roadmaps, prioritizing application focus groups, sustaining existing business.

  • Own and lead portfolio and market segmentation efforts to determine focus areas for the business, identify profitable market pools for growth, drive clear ownership and responsibilities for the team.

  • Analyze and make the right decisions on Make vs. Partner vs. Buy for new business and technology growth areas with the intent of addressing key market/customer needs and profitable growth.

  • Provide effective leadership of new Antenna & Connector product idea initiation and launch process including business case development, product requirements document, execution, and launch.

  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams on opportunity funnel growth and conversion to WIN.

  • Work with Strategy and Business Development teams to identify and execute new growth markets and applications. Includes both Organic and Inorganic growth areas.

  • Identify and develop partnerships with eco system players like semiconductor reference designs, ODMs, module makers to enhance go to market plans.

  • Grow and expand talent on the team through building strong development plans and providing exposure opportunities for talent to shine.

PROFILE

The Director of Product Management will have a minimum of ten years of industrial B2B business development or related experience. S/he must have proven success leading technology intensive growth initiatives in technology driven, fast product cycle-time driven industry. The successful candidate must possess proven strategic, analytical, and implementation skills.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS include:

• 10 to 15 years in Product Management, Product Line Management, and/or Sales, combined with strong background in Engineering.

• Specific experience owning and growing $100M or larger P&L in IoT or broader Industrial market.

• Experience in Cloud, AI, or Edge space (with antennas and data/power connectors) a plus

• Proven track record defining product roadmaps, driving optimal execution process & successfully launching multiple new products.

• Experience driving growth in opportunity funnel and conversion to WINs.

• Experience working cross functionally to define & influence on business priorities & execution.

• Ability to negotiate terms and conditions to drive desired business agreement results.

• Highly systematic strategic thinker with strong problem identification and solving skills.

• Ability to support frequent travel up to 25% (both regional and global)

• Strong intellectual curiosity, coupled with the desire to learn and improve constantly.

EDUCATION:

A technical undergraduate degree in engineering or related is required. An advanced degree, particularly an MBA degree is preferred.

COMPENSATION

• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $173,040 – 259,560 (subject to change dependent on physical location)

• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
