DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a County Intellectual Disabilities Program Specialist 1, you will be responsible for completing intake, eligibility, and enrollment for Westmoreland County residents to obtain waiver services in accordance with the requirements set forth by the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) that are administered through Westmoreland County Developmental Services Department. This position will act as a Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional (QDDP) to complete level of care determinations to establish targeted service management, waiver eligibility, and continued eligibility for Westmoreland County residents aged birth through adulthood for individuals diagnosed with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder, children age 8 or younger diagnosed with a developmental disability, and children aged 0-21 with medically complex conditions. This includes conducting initial registration to determine eligibility, obtaining releases to secure diagnostic records, preparing social histories, and reviewing documentation for meeting the eligibility standards in accordance with the requirements of ODP.
Within this role, you will assist individuals and families with using LifeCourse Framework tools at the time of intake and provide resources. This professional is also responsible for conducing certified investigations following ODP's incident management requirements. Additional duties entail completing service delivery preference activities, assisting individuals and families in navigating the system, providing available resources when appropriate, participating in community outreach, and acting as a program liaison between the ID/A system and other departments and stakeholders.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Occasional need to work or attend meetings after hours or on weekends. Compensation will be provided.
Remote and field work are included with this position.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week, upon successful completion of the 6-month probationary period and submission of the county application for telework. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Greensburg.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of professional experience in the field of intellectual disabilities, and a bachelor's degree; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
