Temporary Development Operations Specialist

Reports to: Senior Manager, Mission Advancement

Department: Fund Development

Status: Temporary, full time, non-exempt

Approximate length of assignment: Six months

This in-person assignment will report to work at the following location:

Essential Functions

Development Operations

  • Manage the donation processing function which includes reviewing checks, accurately entering donor/donation data, updating donor information, ensure donations are assigned the correct revenue codes and applied to the appropriate campaign.

  • Create and track fundraising campaigns in the database.

  • Provide critical thinking and a detailed approach to deconstructing and framing complicated problems.

  • Performing internal Salesforce ™ administration, the position will manage database functionality, ensuring a high quality of data consistency for organizational and individual donor records.

  • Manage the preparation and execution of targeted mailing lists for direct appeals and events; certifying accurate Excel data lists as needed to eliminate duplicate records while adhering to donor communication protocols.

  • Oversee and assist with the daily database maintenance of donor and volunteer records; updating addresses, consolidating duplicate accounts, and updating donor communication preferences as needed.

    Fundraising Reporting

  • Develop and maintain report queries to meet the needs of fundraising leadership and staff; perform data mining and assessment of Salesforce and integrations to produce findings and solutions to convert data into actionable leads for the Fund Development team.

  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports for Salesforce ™ users, including the preparation of reports for the Chief Development Officer and Executive Team.

  • Perform financial reconciliation of Salesforce ™ records with FBSJ Accounting Department weekly and monthly.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and versatile environment.

  • Remain abreast of organization compliance reports and work inter-and cross departmentally to ensure timely submission.

    Qualification and Requirements

  • Minimum two years related experience working with Salesforce (preferred) or related non-profit fundraising database or CRM.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft platforms and donor databases.

  • Ability to communicate complex data issues accurately and concisely.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.

  • Ability to work in the office, in person. This is not a remote position.
