Robert Half Control Systems Engineer in Pella, Iowa

Description

Are you a system thinker who uses your curiosity and ingenuity to identify customer needs, apply industry requirements and understanding of multiple technologies to innovate and optimize complex control systems? In this role you will identify stakeholder needs, derive requirements, conduct tradeoff analysis, develop algorithms and functional architectures, review product design, verify and trouble shoot systems.

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join our team in the manufacturing industry based in PELLA, Iowa. This role involves developing and maintaining electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical control systems, identifying stakeholder needs, and translating them into system requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in model-based design, agile software development, and advanced troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical control systems

• Identify stakeholder needs and translate them into system requirements

• Carry out data-based decision analysis using structured methods such as decision, Pugh, and trade space analysis

• Perform system integration and verification tasks

• Utilize advanced troubleshooting skills and root cause analysis using FMEA, 8d’s, and 6 sigma tools

• Gain experience with model-based design and agile software development

• Utilize software such as Matlab/Simulink, SYSML, Jira, and Dassault 3D Experience

• Familiarize oneself with J1939 multiplexed communication and diagnostic protocols

• Communicate details from a low level to a broad system context based on the needs of the audience

• Design and model mechanical components and systems

• Develop electronic circuits and components, and execute electronic engineering tasks

• Engage in electronic equipment and electronic manufacturing processes

• Apply SysML in system modeling and design

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Systems Engineering role within the Manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in Mechanical Components and Mechanical Design

• Demonstrated experience in Model-based systems engineering

• Proficiency in MATLAB

• Experience in 3D Design and 3D Modeling

• Familiarity with Diagnostic procedures

• Experience with Sigma Tools

• Knowledge of Electronic Circuits, Electronic Components, Electronic Engineering, Electronic Equipment, and Electronic Manufacturing

• Proficiency in SysML

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
