Description Robert Half currently has a vacancy for a permanent Senior Accountant to bring their leadership skills and experience to a growing finance team in the PELHAM, Alabama area. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for producing financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. What you get to do every single day
Prepare financial analysis on trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.
Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives
Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that includes journal entries, reconciliations, and reports in the compensation area in compliance with GAAP
Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions
Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required Requirements
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
BA/BS in Accounting
The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Skilled at time management
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired
Profit and loss experience
QuickBooks experience
Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Skilled with ERP systems
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
