Senior Systems Administrator
JHNA is currently seeking ahighly motivated Senior System Administratorwith demonstrated experience performingsystem administration functions on Aircraft or Weapons Systems networks.
This position will require on-site presence at NAVAIR in Patuxent River, MD.
Roles/Responsibilities
- Work to help maintain and upgrade network infrastructures across the NAVAIR
- Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users
- Assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination
- Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems
- Perform maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.
- Oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
- Optimize the functionality and performance of hardware and software systems
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans and capabilities
- Plan for authorized service interruptions and outages
- Respond to unexpected or unauthorized service interruptions and outages
- Diagnose software and hardware failures to resolution
- Implement and ensure security preventive measures are fully functioning
- Test operating system and software upgrades, patches, and hot fixes
Job Requirements
- Candidate must possess an Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance. US Citizenship required.
- Bachelor's degree in a Technical Discipline.-Will accept additional years of experience in lieu of education requirement.
- At least 5 years of experience in system administration, performing the functional duties for this position.

``` - Deployment/configuration/support for: VMWare/vSphere Enterprise, Cisco switches, SAN, Windows server - Experience with: Networking, Linux.

``` - Knowledge of networking/ IT principles, theories, and concepts and ability to contribute to the development, of new and innovative principles and concepts.
