Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Junior ISSO to join our team in the Patuxent River, MD

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Technical knowledge to perform Audit review via third party software or OS embedded capability.

  • Ability to Operate Auditing Software using Audit Server/ Client Software implementation to perform audit review in a centralized manner based on security control AU-2

  • Understanding of IT Account Management.

  • Ability to operate Security Center (DoD approved tool for system security scanning).

  • Create an ATO Risk Management Framework authorization package. Reciprocity can be used. Need to understand the following artifacts (template available on C-NET):

  • Hardware Listing -validate end of life and foreign ownership

  • Software Listing - validate end of life and foreign ownership

  • System Security Plan

  • Security Control Review and Analysis

  • Plan of Action and Milestone with Risk Assessment Report.

  • Proficient in analyzing security controls from any of the following documents (SP800-53, CNSSI 1253, JSIG).

ISSO Day-to-Day Operations:

  • Verify OS updates are installed as defined in ATO package.

  • Perform weekly audit review of system.

  • Review/ submit Plan of Action and Milestones with Risk Assessment Report to ISSM quarterly.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of engineering experience with two (2) years of Information Assurance/Cybersecurity (IA/CS) experience

  • Three (3) years of experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) DODI 8510.0 I

  • Three (3) years of experience with security controls and implementation delineated in Committee of National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI) 1253 and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-53, and the Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG)

  • Three (3) years of experience with performing vulnerability assessments using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker, incorporating automated Benchmarks

  • Three (3) years of experience implementing operating systems and network devices security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides

  • Three (3) years of experience performing security control continuous monitoring, security audits, risk analysis and developing mitigation strategies for DoD information systems

  • Three (3) years of experience identifying Common Criteria and National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) certified technologies and the DISA Approved Products List (APL)

  • Three (3) years of experience with using the Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide

Education/ Experience Requirements:

  • B.S. Computer Science, Information System Management, or IA/CS technology field in lieu of a degree five (5) years of information system security officer/ cybersecurity engineering experience.

  • Possess DoD Approved Baseline Certification as Information Assurance Manager Level I in accordance with DOD 8570.0l-M. (i.e., CompTIA Security+ (CE), CASP)

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance required. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.

  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

  • Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.

  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

  • May be asked to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment.
