Job Description

Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. This role is in Field Engineering which primarily supports X17 Joiner and Insulation.

Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, AutoCAD, ShipConstructor and NavisWorks. Gathers information, researches requirements, and prepares drawing change papers to provide direction to craft. Coordinates design criteria with Engineering, Operations, Material Sourcing, and Planning. Will interface with Operations, Ship's Management and NAVY/SSGC customer to resolve issues in a timely manner.

Basic Qualifications

Associate's or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 1 year of related experience. A combination of education and construction experience can be used in lieu of a degree.  This job requires the physical ability to work in an industrial environment and work aboard the ships in various stages of construction. Must be a current employee.

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent verbal skills, Competent in software (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, ARAS and NavisWorks).  Familiar with ship specifications and a working knowledge of O&F ship construction.
