**About us** We are a small medical office that treats both neurological and pain management patients. We are looking to hire a dependable, responsible and friendly face of someone who is experienced with CPT coding and billing. Our office currently uses an EMR system called EcW. Responsibilities: - Review and analyze medical records and documentation to ensure accurate coding and billing - Assign appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG codes to medical procedures and diagnoses - Verify patient insurance coverage and process claims for reimbursement - Communicate with healthcare providers to obtain missing or incomplete documentation - Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with HIPAA regulations - Collaborate with other medical billing professionals to resolve coding or billing issues - Stay up-to-date on changes in medical coding regulations and guidelines Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in medical billing or related field preferred - Certification in medical coding (such as CPC or CCS) strongly preferred - Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology - Strong knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG coding systems - Experience working with electronic health record systems and medical billing software - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes - Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines - Effective communication skills to interact with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
