Rubrik Security Engineer (InfoSec) in Palo Alto, California

About Team & About Role:

Rubrik’s Information Security team advances the overall state of security at Rubrik through critical initiatives and coordination of large security projects. Information Security builds technologies, tools, and processes to better enable teams at Rubrik to develop secure software, systems, and services that our customers depend on every day.

Rubrik is seeking creative problem solvers with a passion for cyber security. In this role you will be able to learn fundamental security knowledge from top-notch security engineers, partner with Security Operation Center (SOC) to design and implement security automation solutions to support the team handling security events efficiently and reliably, and practice technical documentation and presentation skills in the field.

What you’ll do:

  • Explore and learn fundamentals of security data and tooling, security monitoring and response.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders and participate in a software development requirements gathering process to collect and document required data for security operations automation use cases.

  • Perform data analysis in SIEM solution to support downstream security automations.

  • Design and implement security automation use cases in SOAR platform.

  • Documenting critical information for the deliverables and lessons learned to support SOC user onboarding, libraries/processes to be leveraged by other team members or other use cases.

  • Deliver the final presentation to the InfoSec team.

Experience you’ll need :

  • 2-5 yrs of experience in Engineering with a Security focus preferred.

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field, Master’s Degree in Computer Science a plus

  • Experience in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby, PowerShell or Shell script

  • Experience in working and developing in both Unix/Linux and Windows environments

  • Experience in tools and best practices in common environments e.g. Git, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.

  • Thrive in fast-paced environment and have the ability to approach problems with an innovative, can-do attitude

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in logging and data management solutions such as Splunk, ELK, syslog-ng, rsylsog, GCP StackDriver, etc

  • Experience in data analytics technologies, ETL, GCP Bigquery, Snowflake, Kafka, Spark, etc.

  • Knowledge of major cloud environments, AWS, GCP and Azure.

The minimum and maximum base salaries for this role are posted below; additionally, the role is eligible for bonus potential, equity and benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the role based on U.S. location. Within the range, the salary offered will be determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US Pay Range

$117,600—$176,400 USD
