Position Summary

Under the direction departmental supervision, provide leadership and mechanical support for activities associated with manufacturing process and process improvements for the manufacturing of rubber products. Must be available to work 12-hour night shift.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on site mechanical support, guidance and assistance during plant activities that include start-ups, process and technology transfers, and major process changes.

  • Need to have good mechanical aptitude and ability to do mathematical calculations, statistical knowledge and understand the principles of physics. Must be able to understand and trouble-shoot ladder logic.

  • Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and repairing electro-mechanical equipment

  • Able to write and perform Work Orders as necessary to achieve stated objectives.

  • Able to troubleshoot equipment.

  • Collaborate with plant employees to carry out work orders.

  • Perform data collection and statistical analysis

  • Complete reports summarizing results and conclusions.

  • Maintain technical competence in advancing technology via frequent training courses, on the job training, vendor schools, seminars, industry associations and publications.

  • Perform mechanical or technical training as needed to areas within the plant that are identified as developmental opportunities.

  • Work in alignment with and support Bandag Mission, Core Values, Quality Statements and Plant Mission Statement.

  • Care of equipment - Care should be taken when starting, operating or stopping equipment to prevent damage to equipment. Must be able to promptly identify, correct, and report all system malfunctions through performing diagnostics and repairs to process machinery, equipment and controls through the application of advanced trouble-shooting skills that will result in maintenance of equipment to plant safety and housekeeping standards. Must perform preventive and predictive maintenance procedures on process machinery and plant equipment.

  • Leadership – Is capable of working without direct supervision and is viewed as a leader in the manufacturing process.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidate has a High School diploma or GED

  • Maintenance experience is required

  • Prefer (5) years of manufacturing experience
