Tamarindo Account Manager in Oxford, United Kingdom

Please see below for the Account Manager Job Description. The role will be open until June 2024, and Tamarindo is looking for candidates who will be available to start at the business between April and September 2024. Applications will be closed should all roles be filled prior to June.

ACCOUNT MANAGER – JOB DESCRIPTION

Role: Account Manager (PR and marketing)

Reporting to: Account Director/ Director

Location: Oxford Office – Hybrid working (3 days in office – 2 days WFH if desired.

ABOUT THE ROLE

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Account Management

  • Lead the day-to-day management and delivery of PR and marketing campaigns for your clients, including building campaign planners and managing a pipeline of content

  • Ensure high-quality work is delivered to deadline and that KPIs are met and/or exceeded, by the account team, every month

  • Build strong relationships with clients at all levels to maintain high levels of engagement in PR and marketing activity

  • Become a trusted advisor to your clients by thinking swiftly and creatively to bring new ideas to their media and marketing campaigns, and effectively consulting to help solve their communications challenges.

Content Creation/ Media

  • Produce strong, well-written PR and marketing content for your clients, including press releases, bylines, white papers, industry reports, newsletters, and social media posts

  • Provide honest counsel to clients on media content strategy and PR content approach to drive the best results

  • Oversee all content produced by Graduates/ Account Executives/ Senior Account Executives and Junior Account Managers supporting them through constructive feedback and ensuring the quality of content delivered to the client

  • Secure regular coverage for your clients in national and trade press by developing effective and creative media pitches to journalists and editors, and, by supporting and coaching SAEs and AEs to deliver the same results

  • Provide valuable and effective feedback to clients on media opportunities to ensure they are fully briefed and make the most of their media secured media opportunities

  • Secure high profile speaker slots for clients at influential events, and support clients with PR amplification around conferences and events (both owned and attending).

People Development

  • Effectively manage Senior Account Executive and Account Executive client and internal deliverables in a way that up-skills and empowers the account team

  • Support the on-the-job training and up-skilling of Graduate Account Executives, Account Executives and Senior Account Executives

  • Effectively line manage Senior Account Executives / Account Executives to enable them to learn, develop and deliver great results, ensure engagement levels of the team are high and support individuals to meet their personal development and career progression goals

Business Development

  • Support the growth of Tamarindo through cross-service upselling e.g. (owned media brands) media partnerships, memberships and event sponsorship.

  • Actively identify and flag potential new business accounts you come across to Directors

  • Support the growth of your clients through intelligent upselling e.g. content briefs, extended scope agreements and by flagging larger opportunities to your line manager

  • Listen out and flag any potential client cues to new work stream opportunities

  • When working with 3rd parties through clients, demonstrate Tamarindo's expertise and quality of delivery

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Very strong written and verbal communication

  • Confident at giving honest, clear, and constructive advice and feedback

  • Proven ability to manage projects to deadline and motivate teams to deliver necessary results

  • Proven ability to forge strong relationships with influential media

  • Strong knowledge of business-to-business PR and communication techniques

  • Excellent attention to detail, strong time management and intelligent prioritisation of account and team tasks

  • Competent line management skills including the ability to deliver constructive feedback and an empathetic response to junior team members

  • Competent stake-holder management skills building relationships with clients and peers

  • Strong IT competency
