Job Title: Engineering Technician/Drafter

Job Description

Under close supervision, the Engineering Technician performs technical work requiring basic knowledge in utilizing electronic applications, processes, standards, and document control procedures for creating or modifying deliverables. The role involves developing familiarity with engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, and company policies and procedures. The technician ensures deliverables are accurate and compliant, demonstrating personal accuracy while supporting continuous improvement and change management efforts. Additionally, the technician will learn applications required to modify less complex deliverables and begin to understand the needs of internal and external clients. Proactively seeking and sharing knowledge of the latest technologies and processes is also essential.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering technician work requiring basic technical knowledge.

  • Utilize electronic applications, processes, standards, and document control procedures for creating or modifying deliverables.

  • Develop familiarity with engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, and company policies and procedures.

  • Ensure deliverables are accurate and compliant with quality programs.

  • Support continuous improvement and change management efforts.

  • Learn and apply applications required to modify less complex deliverables.

  • Identify and understand the needs of internal and external clients.

  • Proactively seek and share knowledge of latest technologies and processes.

Essential Skills

  • Working knowledge of Computer Automated Drafting Design (CADD) or other design applications.

  • Basic knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, and company policies and procedures.

  • Basic industry knowledge and awareness of technology trends.

  • Understanding of company quality program.

  • 1-3 years of drafting experience preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate preferred.

  • Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design related technology preferred.

  • Experience with AutoCAD, SDS, and Inventor software.

  • Electrical knowledge, MicroStation drafting experience.

Work Environment

The work environment involves utilizing various design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, SDS, and Inventor. The role requires adherence to standard office hours with the possibility of adjusting to project timelines. The technician will work in a collaborative setting, emphasizing accuracy, continuous improvement, and adaptability. The dress code is business casual

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $38.00/hr.
