Pay Range: \$15.95 - \$20.31 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: Dispatch campus Police and operate as the primary Johnson County Community College (JCCC) campus public safety answering point while also providing customer service to the campus.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completes routine tasks under moderate supervision.
- Typically requires at least 1 year of related experience.
- Must become NCIC, NIMS (National Incident Management System), and ICS certified.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Answer and process calls to determine the appropriate level of service needed in emergency situations and allocate appropriate personnel and resources to incidents with the public\'s safety and officers in view.
- Initiate calls for the JCCC campus fire and emergency medical response.
- Provide clear and concise verbal directions quickly and accurately to Officers and the public. Disseminate information, such as the nature of the issue, location, and priority, to relevant Police personnel.
- Present, describe, and summarize information in various formats, both written and oral, using clear, concise, and appropriate language.
- Communicate effectively with difficult callers who may be emotionally upset, abusive, non-English speaking, intoxicated, mentally unstable, suicidal, or speech impaired.
- Use all emergency notification systems and effectively communicate using police radio systems, including telephone system and related equipment, radio broadcast equipment, and/or computer-aided dispatch system properly when receiving and dispatching calls for service.
- Use the card access/door locking system (PCSC) and CCTV equipment for emergency and Officer support.
- Serve as customer service liaison for Police and handle customer inquiries and complaints.
- Assist non-emergency calls and customers requesting information while maintaining a courteous, timely, and helpful manner. Serve as a resource to students, employees, and others regarding crime prevention, reporting, victim assistance, handling lost and found, and any other needed assistance.
- Complete required training and certification annually.
- Collaborate with the Clery Act Officer, Title IX Team, Clery Act Team, and Emergency Preparedness Manager on various campus compliance issues.
- Maintain detailed documentation that contains relevant information regarding all phone calls, radio traffic, and units dispatched.
