Purpose:

The Terex Global Parts organization strives for delivering a superior, industry-leading Parts availability based on a detailed and comprehensive KPI system, measuring performance from the perspective of the customer. The position of Parts Procurement Specialist directly affects Parts availability across Terex customer network.

In this position, the Parts Procurement Specialist:

  • manages and develops a range of suppliers across the world to ensure that the purchase order schedules are met on time and in the requested quantity

  • is responsible for the execution of the planning for a wide range of part numbers for various warehouse locations using Terex MRP system as well for the expedition of open Purchase orders in case of unexpected demand increases

  • manages the resolution of the customer backorder lines in close collaboration with Customer Services, as required

  • works closely with the Global Parts Purchasing, Forecasting & Planning and Logistics Teams to ensure a smooth inbound supply chain process considering Terex Parts requirements and suppliers

  • collaborates with the supplier, Terex Operations and Finance to ensure smooth resolution of 3rd party discrepancies. In particular, the role holder is responsible for the root cause investigation of the discrepancy and the communication to the relevant stakeholders.

Execute the daily planning of the managed parts using the MRP systemNo blocked planning Lines in the MRP System at the end of each working day

Maintain Safety Levels for the managed parts Safety Level Attainment Tracking and System Fill

Manage the suppliers’ delivery schedule and open purchase orders, expedite, confirm according to lead-time, amend and negotiate as requiredDaily Performance tracker including the number of open Purchase Orders that are unconfirmed, confirmed outside lead-time, overdue by confirmation and overdue by Lead-Time

Minimize the number of past due purchase orders according to the agreed lead-time with the supplierOn-Time Delivery score for the suppliers managed

Resolve customer Backorder Lines for the managed partsDaily Backorder Tracking of open Backorder Lines, Aged Backorder Lines and Backorder Lines for fast moving items; Second Fill

Resolve 3rd Party grief / discrepancy issues

All discrepancies cleared within 14 days after invoice scanning date; Grief Resolution within 2 working days

Track own performance through KPI tracking as agreed with the Supervisor including preparation and regular reviews

Updated performance trackers and supplier scorecards

Functional Knowledge:

The Parts Procurement Specialist needs to demonstrate good knowledge and understanding in the areas of:

  • order execution and inventory planning

  • ERP and MRP systems

  • inbound supply chain processes. This includes logistics processes as well as financial processes for invoice clearance.

This position further necessitates experience and understanding of supplier management since daily contact with the suppliers is required.

A good level of analytical capability together with advanced Excel skill are important to the role and need to be demonstrated through previous experience.

Business Expertise:

It is important that the Parts Procurement Specialist possesses a good understanding of:

  • spare parts business. The role holder must understand and carefully consider the needs of Terex customer base in respect of criticality of spare parts availability for the managed products

  • Terex Global Parts supplier base, its management and performance

  • the relationship and related processes between Terex Factories and the Terex Global Parts organization

  • Terex end-to-end Global Parts Supply Chain. The role holder will interact with a number of functions across the whole Supply Chain on a daily basis (i.e. Operations, Purchasing, Forecasting & Planning, Customer Services, IT and Finance) and thus knowledge of the processes and organizations along the Supply Chain is required to perform the responsibilities of the role in an efficient manner.

Interpersonal Skills:

The Parts Procurement Specialist is expected to:

  • operate under his own initiative and with a sense of urgency given the nature of the role

  • prioritize tasks and manage workload in an organized and methodical manner

  • deal with pressure from internal and external stakeholders and have the ability to react in a firm manner when required

  • be an effective, able communicator as the role holder will represent Terex Global Parts in meetings with external suppliers

  • demonstrate solid presentation skills as internal and external stakeholders will regularly approach the role holder for information exchange

  • be a prime team player as the role holder will be required to build a wide network of contacts inside the organization given the breadth of functions interlinked with this position

    Qualification + Experience:

  • Degree level education, with qualification in one of the following areas:

  • Business Administration

  • Supply Chain Management

  • Engineering

  • Proficient spoken and written English skills are mandatory, additional languages advantageous

  • 2+ years of experience in supplier management or related functions is required. Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferential.
