Hatch is currently seeking three highly motivated, results-driven, Rail Traffic Control Supervisors to join the Rail System Team in Ottawa for a 6-month term.

This opportunity will challenge your skills in the supervision and mentoring of Rail Traffic Controllers in our client’s control room.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Monitor, mentor and coach the client’s rail traffic control staff.

  • Develop an understanding of the client’s version of the Canadian Rail Operating Rules, signal and dispatch system functionality, operating instructions, special instructions, and timetable.

  • Develop an understanding of the client’s incident response procedures.

  • Report to the client any incidents where a rail traffic controller does not perform their duties in accordance with the training that they have received.

You bring to the role:

  • Experience in the Canadian Rail Operating Rules.

  • Experience as a rail traffic controller and in the supervision of rail traffic controllers.

  • The ability to work in a 24/7 environment.

  • The ability to manage emergent conditions, including incidents.

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
