Serco Integrated Logistics (ILS) Analyst in Ottawa, Ontario

Position Description

This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain / maintain a Canadian Security Clearances (Reliability/Controlled Good or higher).

The ILS Analyst works with less experienced and more experienced technical staff to which the individual is assigned and applies knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support to perform analyses and prepare ILS deliverables in support of the design of ships, crafts, and other floating structures.

Serco supports multiple customers including government customers and shipyards in designing ships, crafts and other floating structures, and their systems.

You will be part of a member team working for an ILS Manager or Senior ILS Analyst supporting the ILS activities of both in service support of ships and new design and build of ships, or ship systems and working closely with the customer and other Serco teams.

You will apply ILS knowledge and analyses techniques in accordance with applicable regulatory body rules, regulations, and industry standards, and will use tools and software to develop analyses and products in one or more areas of ILS.

In this role, you will:

  • Apply ILS knowledge and analyses techniques in accordance with applicable regulatory body rules, regulations, and industry standards to develop analyses and products in one or more areas of ILS:

  • Support the development of proposals for ILS work in response to customer RFPs:

  • Working with clients to formulate ILS requirements and specifications

  • Preparing ILS sections of bid proposals responding to the RFP and addressing ILS CDRLs/SDRLs and DIDs

  • Preparing accurate estimates (labour/non labour) for ILS work

  • Preparing an accurate ILS schedule for delivering ILS products as described in the RFP/proposal

  • Executing ILS work:

  • Performing Reliability/Availability analyses

  • Performing Trending Analysis in regard to system failures

  • Performing FMECAs

  • Performing RCM Analysis and preparing reports

  • Performing Maintainability Analyses

  • Performing Spares Analysis and preparation of provisioning documents

  • Performing Obsolescence Analysis and updating Obsolescence Plan

  • Perform special research or technical studies critical to ARM, RCM, maintenance and logistic support functions

  • Life Cycle Cost Analysis

  • Familiar with Logistics Support Analysis Requirements (MIL-STD-1388-2B, GEIA-STD-0007)

  • Familiar with Warehousing and Supply Chain optimization techniques.

  • Preparation and presentation of formal briefings and staff seminars.

  • Complies with all corporate policies and procedures, including quality assurance and security procedures, in the performance of duties.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • High School Diploma and 3 years with a minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience in ILS activities.Education preferred for this role is a combination of experience and education encompassing EITHER a • Minimum of two years demonstrated experience in ILS activities. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.• Experience in a marine, naval or shipbuilding environment• Knowledge of marine vessel systems (electrical and/or mechanical)• Knowledge of the maintenance procedures associated with the electrical and/or mechanical systems• A working level knowledge of Canadian Armed Forces and Royal Canadian Navy supply systems is considered an asset.• Advanced user of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project• Experience with Wind-chill Quality Solutions (or similar AR&M modelling), Omega PS (or similar LSA Record), Omega PS Analyzer (or similar LORA, LCC, spares modelling), Microsoft Office Suite- all an asset• Experience with DRMIS and cataloguing within the Canadian Forces Supply System is an asset• Experience with S1000D and/or Mil-Spec specifications is an asset

  • Familiar with and able to perform:

  • Weibull Analysis

  • Level of Repair Analysis

  • 10% travel required

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a Certification in Engineering Technology, in the fields of mechanical, electrical, or industrial technology

  • Possessing or the ability to obtain Canadian Security Clearances (Reliability/Controlled Good or higher) may be required for the role.

  • Acquisition logistics:

  • Funding Analysis

  • Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in all ILS elements

  • Develop Integrated Logistics Support Plans (ILSP)

  • Sustainment/Life Cycle Logistics:

  • Obsolescence management and action plans

  • Provide subject matter expertise in Supply Support, Planned Maintenance System (PMS), Technical Manuals (TMs) and current development

  • Life-of-type buy analyses, shelf life management, PBL support, warranty management and spares assessments

  • Supportability planning and assessments

  • Functional knowledge of DND DRMIS database
